¶ Locations
The race of humans called "Salt Folk" by the Viridians are rarely seen south of Halakvane. They are known to dwell mainly in two northern lands beyond the sea there known as Narthlyn and Ilyan and are most often seen in other lands aboard ships or in merchant companies.
¶ Appearance
These people have (at least to the Viridian eye) a very consistent appearance across both sexes. Males and females tend to be similarly built, lean and lithe. Both have similar heights, commonly 5'6" to 5'10", with very few individuals over the 6' mark.
Their hair is almost always a very dark brown to black, usually textured or wavy, seldom truly straight. The shape of their faces tends to be slightly longer and oval, with almost exclusively light brown to hazel eyes. Men seldom grow facial hair and neither sex shows much body hair.
¶ History
Little is known about the people of the far north lands. They seem related to the "Northerners" of Halakvane, and given their close proximity may even be the same race originally. To the average citizen of Essodan, the difference is difficult to recognize.
