Brahm Feyblade is a half-elf, born in the city of Assetallis to two half-elf parents, the second of two children. He grew up along with his brother Grantham apprenticed to their father Shamash in his locksmith shop until his mother and brother died in 109EA. Both fell ill to a dangerous plague, not uncommon in the poorer dockside areas of Assetallis. Shamash took on great debt as he paid various doctors, priests, and healers to cure them, all to no avail.
Melancholia soon overtook Shamash. He stopped tending to his business. Brahm stepped up as best he could running the shop, fixing locks and mending hinges. But the outstanding debt soon eclipsed the profits from the shop. Shamash was forced to sell the business in order to settle debts, but this only covered a fraction of what he had borrowed. Eventually Shamash was brought to trial in debtor’s court, to be imprisoned in the city’s workhouse.
Brahm hatched a scheme to get the coin to pay his father's debt, but as it was his first such heist, things went predictably wrong. Brahm awoke in a cell on one of the decrepit old prison ships anchored in the city harbor. There he met an elven thief, and between the two of them, they managed a stealthy escape by moonlight. On the advice of the elder elf to get as far from Assetallis as he could, Brahm made his way to Kingsmark.
There he was surprised to find half-elven twins, Kester and Virris Revik, who were friendly enough to him. Doing odd jobs and making a little coin, Brahm was in the midst of deciding what to do next when he became involved in solving the murder of Ksenja Bravich's groom. Finding the work agreeable and even profitable, Brahm and the other three founded the Red Stone Mercenary Company.
When a falling out over division of gold with A'nukai Kavran put the Mercenaries at odds, Brahm agree to accompany Ksenja out of town towards the heart of Essodan.
