Looking out on the Sea of Signs, the ancient city Eclesia rises above the eastern shores of Suonin. A city of learning, magnificent temples, the streets are alive with languages from across the world. Scholars share tables with sailors. Magicians pursue discoveries that draw students from distant lands. Here, every race is welcome, every god has a temple, and knowledge can change a life.
At its head stands the greatest temple of the vaunted Seers of Eclesia -- the greatest consecrated measuring site of the Seers, doubling as the greatest temple to Lady Fate. Extraordinary studies of magic and faith take place in this city, a safe haven where Tamiriyan conquest has broken against the city’s fierce independence time and again, a cosmopolitan gathering far from the prejudices of backwaters like Essodan.
Yet Eclesia rests upon the ruins of its own earlier lives, and much of the densely forest island beyond somehow remains scarcely explored. Despite so much knowledge in the city, the forests lie in contrast with ancient places whose guardians still protect secrets the city has never learned.
Now expeditions fail to return, old boundaries become dangerous, and troubling signs invite explanations nobody can agree upon. The communities beyond the capital need people willing to investigate—and bring their neighbors home.
